READY SET WRITING GOALS
Do you have a goal to do some writing but somehow never get around to it - because you are too busy?
Do need to put some words together but actually hate the idea - it's just not your thing?
Do you have all the information for what you need to write - but have no idea how to best put it all together?
You're not alone! "I have to get some writing done", is one of the biggests 'should goals' out there. Too many people think they should be able to write their website content; should be able to put together an effective profile or should be able to create that feature article or attention grabbing media release that will build their business.
The truth is, not everybody can, wants to, or has the time to write good copy that engages the reader and achieves its purpose. It's not what you do best!
So what do you do when you need some words but know it's not your forte, or you simply don't have the time? As you may do with your book-keeping, graphic design, admin and so on - the sensible answer is to outsource it to a professional.
That's where I come in. With over 30 years experience as a writer and author I can put your words together in a way that still sounds as if they are coming from you, but really gets your message across.

Thank you so much for the great work you did in getting our website up and running. We really appreciate the way you were able to come to grips with our requirements and bring everything together in such good time and in such a helpful and cheerful manner. We are delighted with the end result and believe the site carries our message clearly, and has a most engaging and professional appearance.

Website content
When people come to your website it's important they not only find information about who you are and what you do, but feel you are speaking to and making a connection with them. Your business message may, of necessity, be "heavy" and full of important detail, but there is no reason why it can't be written in a manner that engages the person who is visiting your site.
And whilst the design and appearance of your website is of huge importance - I believe it is the message in the words that will establish rapport with your visitors so they make further contact with you.
I can write, or rewrite your website content so that it welcomes and relates to the reader, as well as making sure it says everything you want to say and emphasises what is important.
One of the most important elements of my business website. People are meeting us before we even know who they are. In creating our site I tended to have a visual understanding of what I want it to look feel like as an experience for the end user. I knew the emotions that I want the opening words to conjure when someone visited the home page.
I was very aware that I needed to enlist the help of professionals to make that happen. Wendy worked with me to ensure that the copy for our website flowed easily for the visitor and made sure that the information not only relayed a message, but also captured the essence and personality of our business and our brand. Wendy was easy and professional to work with, really cared about our team and our business. She worked with me to develop the content for my site, as opposed to writers who take creative licence for themselves.
Thank you Wendy for taking the time to listen and deliver!!
I know anyone you work with will most certainly have the same experience.

Business cards and brochures
Your business card should not only be about your business identity. It can be a powerful marketing tool that gently promotes and invites. It also needs to be "networking friendly". For both your business card and brochure or flyer, I will work with you on creating a message that not only give information, but captures the essence of your business in a way that invites and engages the reader.
"I’m great at the technical side but writing my own website word content was proving a challenge. I thought I could do it myself but I just kept putting it off. Wendy saved me time and stress and turned my information into a congruent message that really said what I wanted to say in the way I would say it. She also transformed my business card wording from a simple identity to a strong marketing tool that really reflects my services." Aileen Forbes, Weblines
Feature articles
Getting an article published in a newspaper or magazine, or posted on a website, is a terrific way of raising your profile and credibility and attracting business. But too often these features written by 'experts', whilst full of information, are dry and boring - and the reader gets fed up with ploughing through the 'turgid' copy well before the end.
With my experience in the print media I can turn your information into an interesting, easy to absorb article that will keep your reader engaged right to the end and wanting to know more. I can also write or edit to the length you require, and make sure all the important points are covered.
You can see my style of feature writing by going to the Tips and Tools page, where several of my articles are available for download.

Profiles
How often does someone say to you "Can you let me have your bio or profile?". It may be to include you in a conference introduction or workshop handout; to put you up as a preferred supplier on their website, or as part of a newspaper or magazine story. You may even need it for the 'About me' section of your own website.
Your profile is most effective when it is more than a list of your history and achievements. It needs to reflect your personality and passion so the reader or listener gets the real essence of who you are and what you do. Profiles and bios also need to be of an appropriate length and content for the occasion. A profile or introduction is not a CV, it doesn't always need every little detail about you.
Working from the formal information you give me and by asking lots of extra questions, I will create a profile that truly reflects the bigger picture of who you are, yet is appropriate for the purpose for which it is required.
If you would like to create an effective media release or profile email me right away so we can discuss how I can help you.
